The crescentine with their simple flavour and the characteristic fragrance of freshly baked bread, are ideal with rustic dishes with cold meats and cheeses.
Traditionally they are eaten hot, cut in half and filled with “pesto”, a mixture of lard, bacon, garlic and rosemary to which you must add a sprinkling of grated Parmigiano Reggiano; but they are also tasty with all cured meats and soft cheeses or filled with the confettura extra di visciole sour cherry jam as a delicious dessert.
